To name a child is a task that is not to be taken lightly. The decision is not final but changing your name later is not as easy as it sounds. So when new parents are spending hours and hours debating baby names, making long lists of good names and bad names, there is a reason for it. Who haven’t heard (or tried themselves) of parents making boy names lists and girl names lists and then finally comparing them to find out what they have in common.

Modern baby names have become popular or maybe it is the other way around and the fact that some names are popular have made them modern. Never the less baby names have been divided into broad baby names groups such as common/popular names, odd/unique names or trendy/modern names. I believe that each group of parents has a reason for choosing that specific section.

Most people go for the common and popular names and they reason that they are called common is precise that this it was most parents choose to name their babies. Names that are common in some parts of the world or even in countries can be seen as rare or odd in other parts of the world or even in the neighbor countries. And it changes almost every year.

Modern baby names are the group of trendy names that celebrity stars give to their children. The great Hollywood movie stars or the music idols and sports icons have made it a branding issue to give your baby a name that is strange enough to get them some free publicity in the media. The funny part is that within a few months these (before strange) names becomes modern and trendy as people and fans of these super stars will name their babies after star babies.

I know that some people will regret following this path and especially if they name their babies ridiculous names after pop stars that are only going to be around for a few months or maybe a few years. But that is this risk you will have to take if you want to copy famous people.

The last part or group of names is the odd and unique names. If you want to name you child a name that is uncommon this is the section for you. You can never avoid the fact that the super stars might use the name that you have already used but then you can always say that you were the first one to use it. So even if a baby name is considered odd in the year 2007 it can very well be on the 2008 list of modern baby names.

To take a baby handprint picture I would strongly recommend that you use a digital camera for the job. Not that it is impossible to use a normal camera but if you aren’t already a skilled photographer then you might need more than a few shot before getting it right.

A normal camera could therefore easily cost you a lot of money in bad baby handprint pictures and that is not to mention the time spent.

By using a digital camera you are able to take as many photos as you like and it would be absolutely free. If the pictures taken weren’t what you expected you can just erase them and try again.

4 Simple Steps To Start A Baby Poem
Baby Poems have become very popular throughout the last decade and more parents or grandparents are writing their own baby poems. Some people are very creative and have no problem in writing poems, lyrics or maybe even compose music while others don’t know where to start.

Now I don’t know in which category you are but if I assume that you are in the group that is finding it difficult to write a baby poem that can express the feelings and emotions that you would like it to, then here are a few good tips to get you started.

1. Get a good pen and some blank sheets of paper
Some people might argue that today you can always use a computer so there is no need for pen and paper but I must say that I do not agree. Poetry is a state of art and emotions runs in your fingers and in your hands and not in a keyboard. Well I know that you also use your hands and fingers on the keyboard but you get the idea.

Secondly a pen and paper are easily carried with you wherever you go so you are always able to put down your thoughts on paper instead of trying to remember that brilliant idea that you had but that will surely be gone when you get back home and turn on your computer. The brain remembers but it is also the brain that forgets…

2. Thoughts and feelings
Baby poems should not be rushed and by always carrying a pen and a piece of paper you can always put down your feelings and thoughts when you are around the baby and when you are not. Feelings of love for the baby when you are with him or her and the feelings that you have when you are not with the child are both emotions that will fit perfectly into a unique baby poem.

Try to spend some quality time with the baby. Describe what you feel when the baby looks at you with its big and round baby eyes and when it giggles and smiles at you. That warm and fuzzy feeling it the essence of what makes a great poem. By putting yourself in these situations it will be a whole lot easier for you to put down the exact feelings on paper.

3. Do you need to make it rime?
A lot of people think that baby poems need to rime. It does not! A rime needs to rime but a poem is just a unique combination of words that expresses happy or sad feelings with very few words. Baby poems are mostly filled with love but for some a baby poem can also be a way of dealing with the loss of a child. No matter you situation the pen and paper trick will still work.

4. Get inspiration
Go online if you have that option and look at all the many baby poems that have been posted and seek inspiration in them. Once you have the emotions down on paper you will see how easy it really is to put it down on paper.
