Searching for pictures of a baby footprint may sound like an easy task and something that you will be able to finish within the first ten minutes after you have powered up your computer. Unfortunately this is very seldom the case and you can expect to be searching high and low for the exact pictures that you’re looking for.

This is where I will try to come to rescue you from a terrible waste of time. I have spent hours searching the internet and in these extensive searches I have found a couple of sites that might come in handy when you are trying to find a picture of a baby footprint.

The process is best done in an easy step by step form and I’ll outline it for you below. The reason that you are better off doing it in small steps is that as own of the first step is about planning and “goal setting” I will always be easier to find it if you know what you are looking for. It is actually that simple but there are still lots of people that wonder around in the dark without a clue.

Step 1
Make up your mind about what it is that you are looking for and what is should be for. If it is for baby shower gifts you might want one type of picture while birthdays and Christmas might require a whole different pic of a baby footprint.

Step 2
Now that you are not only looking for a picture of baby feet but a picture of a print of baby feet it becomes a very niche subject and that is the reason for the very limited supply of pictures of baby footprints.

The two most used baby footprints are a) the ones of feet in the sand after the baby has walked across the beach or b) the picture of baby feet that has been through paint or ink and then pressed towards paper or textile.

So depending on which of these you are looking for there are different ways to go about getting them. Well one of the solutions is the same for both but you’ll see what I mean in a second.

Step 3
Now that you know what you want you are ready to start the search. First off I suggest that you start using either one of the major search engines or you paid a visit to SXC where you will be able to find loads and loads of pictures and most of them are free.

Unfortunately you will probably end up with nothing because, as I stated earlier, the pictures of baby footprints are quite rare.

For a result that is close to what you are expecting to find I really would suggest that you go do your own pic of a baby footprint. The simplest way to do it is to go get a digital camera and then start shooting pictures. The more you shoot the better and you’ll end up with what you wanted in the first place.

I the case you do not have a baby of your own I suggest that you visit a daycare center or similar and explain to them what you are up to and why they do not need to worry. I’m sure that most centers will let you take pictures of the baby feet after running in the sand.

Maybe you could sponsor some baby footprint kits in return for being able to take pictures afterwards. It will surely be worth the try.

Odd Baby Names

The Odd Baby Names Syndrome
Is it fair to call this an Odd Baby Names Syndrome? Well maybe it is not but what we have seen other the last few years is that more and more people are looking for strange names to give to their children.

When looking at the search patterns for the phrase “odd baby names” I could see that this is a trend that is growing rapidly. The latest figures that I was able to find show that almost 5000 people search for that phrase A DAY. That means that almost 150000 searches are made every single month.

Now I don’t have the stats for how many children that are born in countries that have English as their native tongue but I find that to be A LOT. The funny part is that is doesn’t end there. Then you have phrases like “unique baby names” and “strange baby names” and some people even search for “ugly baby names”. That last one I can’t explain but I can see from the numbers that it is true.

The syndrome
The reason that I like to call the search for odd baby names a syndrome is that I like the word better than the word trend. From the every day magazines, newspapers and TV broadcasts we hear about celebrities that gives their baby strange long names that they will never be able to either pronounce or spell. This often results in them using nicknames instead of their real names.

I you ask me then why not to give them that name from the start. It would be easier for everyone and especially for the child.

The answer to why this syndrome has become so popular can (IMHO) be found in the trend that people want to be unique. Well that is not entirely true because there is also a large group that would do anything to belong to a group but that is another story.

Having a unique name will make you different than most other people and this is what some people find very attractive (it is mostly the parents as the baby doesn’t have a clue). Parents feel that their babies are special (and they are) and some will go the route of giving the special names as well.

The cure
Using odd baby names is not something that will disappear any day soon because people are becoming more and more individualized and self focused. I’m not saying that it is a bad thing but would I do say is that I feel sorry for the children that are given names that will hunt the through their early years in kindergarten and pre-school and maybe even in school.

I’m sure that if you went to ask these kids whether they like their strange name or whether they would prefer a more common name I strongly believe that they would choose the latter.

A poem is a piece of art that have been created by a poet with strong emotions. It can be love and it can be hate. But always with emotions that are put onto paper in a beautiful way.

Because of this unique characteristic a poem is often used when people are creating baby keepsakes. Naturally parents love their children and when a couple gets their first baby it is a special time and a time for celebrating.

The baby handprint poem is one of the most commonly used poems because a lot of parents want to keep a physical memory of their baby and its early days. And what better way to express the feeling for the baby than to put a baby poem beside the newly created handprint.

In the last 10-15 years it has been widely used to put the paste baby handprint into a wooden frame or a box and beside the handprint you will often see a picture of the baby or a poem about the baby or maybe even both.

I find it to be a very cute and yet very unique creation that will make the perfect gift for the grandparents or any other relatives that are close to the newly born. So how do you go about writing a poem for a baby handprint? Well poetry has no boundaries and therefore there are no certain “rules” that you need to follow in order to make your text a “poem”.

I suggest that you spend some time putting the words together because putting that strong a feeling down on paper is not that easy if you are still to keep it fairly short and precise. Go get inspiration from one of the many poetry sites that you will find online.

There are many sites that have made it their specialty to list great baby poetry and some of the sites have forums where you are able to chat with others that might be in the same situation as you in case you get stuck.

Have someone else write it for you…
Depending on the time you have available and the money you are able to spend you can always go for the solution to have someone else write the poem based on your own description of your feelings for the baby.

There are many writers (both professionals and novices) online but most professional will show you their portfolio if you ask them. I suggest that you make sure they have written baby poems or children songs before you hire them and become obligated to pay them for the work that they do – no matter the quality that they might come up with.

To have a unique baby handprint poem that will be your baby and your baby only you will also need to put some effort into it when telling the writer about your feelings.
